TEMPO1

The French TEMPO data repository includes different datasets on in-situ phenology observations. One data set is Epiphyt (Epidemiological Surveillance Information System). This data is collected from different French partners following observations carried out in accordance with harmonized protocols.

Pre-processing

Original data was filtered:

• Cases where a combination of experiment, location, trial year, crop and observation date had varying phenology stages were removed as we expect that on a specific day only one stage is observed.
• We did not keep all the crops, we only included the following crops (attribute binomial_name):
  • Plantae ×Triticosecale sp.
  • Plantae Allium cepa
  • Plantae Beta vulgaris
  • Plantae Brassica napus
  • Plantae Helianthus annuus
  • Plantae Hordeum vulgare
  • Plantae Lathyrus oleraceus
  • Plantae Linum usitatissimum
  • Plantae Phaseolus vulgaris
  • Plantae Solanum tuberosum
  • Plantae Triticum aestivum
  • Plantae Triticum turgidum
  • Plantae Zea mays
• Cases where a BBCH stage (attribute stage_code) of unique combination of experiment, location, trial year, crop is continous similar for more than 10 days, are removed only allowing a moderate variation of observation dates of the same crop stage.

The unique name is based on the string TEMPO1 and an internal unique ID.

The comment is based on the following attributes and can be used to retrieve the record in the original data file:

• site_longitude
• site_latitude
• site_ID
• year_obs
• binomial_name

Attribute: stage_code
Remark: the stage is given for a certain day (attribute dataobs)
